Matt Murdock is officially canon in the MCU. Better yet, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock is formally canon in the MCU.

The vector performed the character in Netflix’s hard-hitting, universally-applaud Daredevil sequel for three seasons. Still, he finally appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home before having a more substantial role in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.

He’s set to get a starring role in the upcoming Daredevil Born Again sequel a new Disney Plus series that will also feature the rescue of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Kingpin. As exciting as that is, be scheduled for a bit of a wait.

Is Daredevil Born Again coming out in 2023?

Daredevil Born Again won’t be part of Marvel’s line-up of presentations on Disney Plus in 2023. Numerous MCU shows are expected to launch this year, but Matt Murdock’s headlining adventure is not part of that line-up and will rather premiere next year.

In the meantime, you can contact your Marvel fill from plays such as Secret Invasion, Loki season 2, and Ironheart, with What If? season 2, Echo and Agatha: Coven of Chaos potentially arriving this year too.

Daredevil Born Again release updates

Daredevil Born Again is set to launch on Disney Plus in the Spring of 2024. Kevin Feige announced the show and its out window at San Diego Comic-Con back in July when he revealed what titles were reaching in Phases 5 and 6 of the MCU. As it’s running to be the longest Marvel Studios sequel thus far (running for 18 episodes), the first season is anticipated to be split into two parts of nine.

It goes without stating that Marvel fans are super eager to see Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio back transferring the screen in their roles, and given Marvel Studios’ track record, they are hoping for big things from the Disney Plus sequel.

Daredevil Born Again‘s Plot

We do not yet know much regarding the exact plot of Daredevil Born Again. But in the comics, Born Again is an extremely dark tale for Daredevil. In it, the man without dread faces down Kingpin, who works Matt Murdock’s feelings for a struggling Karen Page in his endeavors to destroy the icon.

Whether this storyline will see its way into the MCU, we can’t say for certain. What we do know is that Daredevil Born Again will have eighteen episodes, exiting a lot of room to explore the MCU rendition of the hero. It remains vague, though, even to star Charlie Cox, if Born Again features a brand new Daredevil or a continuance of the version from the Netflix Marvel plays.

Cox notes I don’t think it’s a separate character… I just think it’s possibly a different period of his life. I don’t suppose my interpretation will change, they hired the same performer. We saw this is a whole new… era, or a variant? I have not read the writings, so I do not know.

Is Daredevil Born Again Background and creation

With regular writer Dennis O’Neil training to leave the series, long-running Daredevil editor Ralph Macchio called up Frank Miller and requested if he would be inquisitive about returning to the sequel. Miller, whose first stint as the writer had brought Daredevil from the brink of revocation to the top-sellers lists, approved under the condition that artist David Mazzucchelli would work from complete scripts. Contrary to the story, Mazzucchelli did not draw over designs by Miller; the artwork in the story is entirely Mazzucchelli’s.

Is Daredevil Born Again Reception

Regarding the promotion of Daredevil comic popularity during Frank Miller’s run in the 1980s, Born Again is deemed one of, if not the best storyline within the Daredevil mythos, with credit for Miller’s and Mazzucchelli’s artwork, storyline, and religious history mirroring Matt Murdock’s arc from decline and rise. Fans and analysts see Born Again to be effective. The period during the beginning of the Modern Age of Comic Books.
