About the show:

The Netflix Original series Ozark follows Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman), a Chicago financial advisor who suddenly relocates his entire family from their wealthy life back home to live amongst millions of dollars worth of dirty money spanning 12 states. His wife Wendy (Laura Linney) conspires with him as they work together on this task while also raising two children— son Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) and daughter Charlotte aka Charlie (Sofia Hublitz).

In Ozark, Marty is in deep with a Mexican drug lord after he launders $500 million of the man’s dirty money. What seemed like an easy ride became anything but when his wife Wendy learns about this move to the Ozarks. She warns him that they will not survive if he continues down this path while also dealing with their children who believe everything is perfect now because it all seems so idyllic here.

And then there are other threats on top of how dangerous things can be for them as well— namely Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), a woman from Chicago who wants her cut of what Marty and Wendy have earned. Marty is reluctant to give her what she wants, but it’s clear that she will stop at nothing in order to get it—and this may be the one thing that finally pushes Marty over the edge.
