Jurassic World 3

The Jurassic World trilogy is coming to an end with the release of the third installment, and while we are excited for what’s to come (including Chris Pratt’s return), there are still some things that bother us. We’re not sure how many people will be able to keep up with all of this information, but here’s a quick roundup of everything you need to know about Jurassic World 3!

Jurassic World 3 cast
Jurassic World 3 cast

Cast includes:

Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, a raptor-trainer for Jurassic World.

Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, the former park manager of Jurassic World before its destruction and now founder of her own dinosaur protection organization that hopes to stop Hammond’s plans.

There are some casting updates! Jake Johnson will be playing an unspecified role in the Fallen Kingdom (though he is not returning from The Lost World), but Toby Jones has been cast to play Eli Mills – Owen’s boss at Kirby Sanitation who recruits him on behalf of his sister Clarendon Royce (played by Rafe Spall) for what appears to be another personal mission which may or may not have anything do with dinosaurs this time around…

Story-line:

Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, a raptor-trainer for Jurassic World. Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, the former park manager of Jurassic World before its destruction and now founder of her own dinosaur protection organization units him on behalf of his sister Clarendon Royce (played by Rafe Spall) for what appears to be another personal mission which may or may not have anything do with dinosaurs this time around… They also confirmed that the film would take place four years after Jurassic World, and it will focus on Pratt’s character trying to save the remaining dinosaurs. Claire Dearing, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, was set up as being instrumental in plans to stop Hammond’s project, and it’s fair to say she wasn’t the most reliable partner.

The film will also see a return of B.D. Wong as Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic World, who is now developing synthetic dinosaurs made from leftover DNA samples into an amusement park for somebody with a lot of money – maybe even himself? The first trailer had plenty of references back to the original Jurassic Park films (see below), which may make fans feel nostalgic although many have criticized that this will be nothing more than another cash-grab by Universal Studios looking at nostalgia rather than providing anything new or worthwhile. With such a disappointing ending for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, there are still mixed opinions on what direction they should take these newer sequels but many fans are still unhappy with the direction that the Fallen Kingdom went and want to see more of their favorite dinos back on screen.

It’s unclear what this film will be about, but it is confirmed that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return as Owen Grady (the alpha raptor trainer) and Claire Dearing respectively. The third movie sees a new director take over from Jurassic World: Lost Kingdom’s J. A Bayona – Spanish filmmaker JA Bayona has been replaced by Juan Antonio Bayona who directed ‘The Impossible’ which was released in 2012 starring Naomi Watts among others so hopefully, he can bring something fresh to these sequels too!

Released updates:

There have been numerous announcements of new actors joining the cast and these are all listed below. It has also been revealed that Jeff Goldblum will return as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the film which is set for release on June 11th, 2021.

Ratings:

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom reviews are out and the consensus seems to be that it was a lot of fun. The movie has an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is lower than Jurassic Park’s 91% but still generally positive. Critics have mentioned how much they enjoyed Chris Pratt as Owen Grady (and loved Bryce Dallas Howard for going back into action). It sounds like one major complaint might be how short the film feels, with some critics wishing there had been more time in between the Fallen Kingdom and World III so we could process everything that happened before jumping right back into it again! But overall it looks like fans will get what they were looking for from this franchise.

Reactions:

As much as I wanted to enjoy this movie, Fallen Kingdom left me cold and empty inside so it’s not really surprising that many others feel similarly about its sequel too! If you want to see more dinosaurs then there’s a petition out there calling for Steven Spielberg to take over! Let’s hope he gets involved because no one does dinos like him.
