Wednesday fans can, at last, breathe a sigh of reassurance, as Netflix has finally revived the smash-hit fantasy theater for a second season. The show, which stars Jenna Ortega (Scream) as the gothic comedy character Wednesday Addams, broke rating records for the streamer, leading numerous to assume that a follow-up was a secure bet. Yet, it took quite some time for Netflix to verify as much, which was whispered to have something to do with the show living produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) – the veteran Hollywood studio just acquired by competitor Amazon.
Netflix has now discredited talk that the show could be splintered up by Prime Video, formally announcing that a second season is on the form and it will be staying put for the time standing. A second season of Wednesday is planned?
After some mild panic from fanatics, Netflix has confirmed that Wednesday will return for season 2 on streaming assistance, describing the show as a global phenomenon in the announcement videotape below.
Earlier, there had been speculation that the wild sensation of the show could lead to its existing poached by Prime Video, following Amazon’s current acquisition of Addams Family landlord MGM for a cool 8.4 billion.

Talking to Variety, showrunner Miles Millar disclosed that he and co-creator Alfred Gough hope for the play to continue beyond simply season 2.
Wednesday season 2 speculation release date
Netflix is however to confirm when Wednesday season 2 will be available to flow on the service, but we can make an enlightened guess based on the production bicycle of the initial episodes.
Filming on the Tim Burton project lasted six months, beginning in September 2021 and wrapping in March 2022, so it stands to compel that the follow-up will attach to a similar timeframe.

What could be the plot for a probable Wednesday season 2?
There are a lot of tricks from the Nevermore Academy and the aftermath of that assassin plotline to unpack, but it appears we already know what we could see more of in the future if Wednesday is resumed for a second run.
One something that showrunner Millar is nifty to add more of in the second season is the Addams Family themselves.
Speaking to the television line, he said: We felt like we just connected the surface with those characters and the performers are so amazing in those parts.
Catherine is, I think, an iconic Morticia. The connection between Wednesday and Morticia is also elementary to the show, and the thought that Wednesday is trying to generate her path beyond the family is important.”
We want to feature the family as we did this season in a pair of episodes if we were to bring a second season.
