This movie has been in the works for some time, since 2021. It was said that Cage originally wanted to play the lead role but didn’t get it at first, but eventually got his chance. When it comes to the Western genre this isn’t new for him either as he played an old west cowboy in The Quick And The Dead.
Storyline of ‘The Old Way’
This is the first Hollywood movie to be made on the Old West, with Cage playing a gunslinger who’s wife is brutally killed and seeks revenge through justice. But then he finds out the man who killed his wife is a son of a person who was killed by Colton Briggs in his youth.
a family man who comes out of retirement after his wife is murdered by outlaws. With Colton and his 12-year-old daughter still in danger, he sets out to seek his revenge and put a stop to the outlaws once and for all. But he doesn’t do it alone, teaming up with his daughter and teaching her the way of the gun.
It was an emotional rollercoaster as they shared what they hoped audiences would feel, as they drove home the message that revenge is a dangerous pursuit. And while this isn’t the first western film to be set in the Old West, it is one of very few where Nicolas Cage faces off against gun-wielding bad guys.
