“We will have a lot more of the legacy characters,” creator Eli Horowitz tells Entertainment Weekly. “You’ll see them more in the background, and you’ll get some moments for them on the bridge. We want to go a little deeper with some of them. We’re talking with the studio to find some ways to bring them back.”

According to Entertainment Magazine, the Season 2 premiere of Star Trek: Prodigy will follow up on Season 1’s cliffhanger that Captain Kirk did not come out of a black hole all that well. Specifically, he’s still an Ensign in Starfleet, and he’ll have to learn how to be in command again.

“He is, on a lot of levels, a different person,” Christopher Larkin tells Entertainment Magazine, “and I think he has some healing wounds from the events of last season. The events of last season will infuse his journey. And, he leads a squad of young Captains that are all in the same place. So, it’s sort of the crew trying to find their way back home.”

“I think you’ll find our story is more magical and nuanced and surprising than ever before,” executive producer Jonathan Frakes promises, adding that this season will “have an important thematic resonance.”

More typical faces in season 2

In a taped feature released by Paramount+ Dan and Kevin Hageman talked about season two, including how there are more additional legacy stars coming. Kevin teased: In addition to Kate Mulgrew recreating the two Janeways, season one featured Robert Beltran as Chakotay, Billy Cambell as Thadiun Okona, and Ronny Cox as Admiral Jellico. Season two choice also features a new ship for Admiral Janeway which both brothers also taunted, and it too may contain a big canon relationship.

Prodigy Will Return For Season 2

Star Trek: Prodigy will return for season 2 on Paramount+, with episodes to air after on Nickelodeon. Star Trek: Prodigy’s renewal was officially announced in November 2021 shortly after Prodigy season 1 premiered on Paramount+, and the second season will also consist of 20 episodes. It’s not clear however if a similar release structure as season 1’s may be utilized to break Prodigy season 2 into two 10-episode blocks, or if the whole season will drop uninterrupted for 20 weeks.

 Cast & Story Updates: Prodigy Season 2

Star Trek: Prodigy season 1’s finale left an exhilarating story thread to follow as Admiral Janeway will bring the Protostar’s former crew with her when she goes into an alternate fortune timeline to rescue Captain Chakotay. In acquisition, Gwyn traveled to Solum in the 24th century to try to control the civil war that will erupt after the Vau’Nakat completed their First Contact with Starfleet. The voice cast members led by Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gray, Ella Purnell, and including Jason Mantzoukas, Dee Bradley Baker, Rylee Alazraqui, and Angus Imrie will yield for Star Trek: Prodigy season 2, and Jameela Jamil and Jimmi Simpson may repeat villains Asencio and Deadnok as nicely.

Further, 2023 will be a huge year for Star Trek on Paramount+. 2023 will boot off with the third and last season of Star Trek: Picard in February, as observed by Star Trek: Quirky New Worlds season 2, and Star Trek: under Decks season 4. It is not clear however if Star Trek: Prodigy will heed or forego Star Trek: Discovery season 5’s release last in the year.

What Will Season 2 of Star Trek: Prodigy Be About?

Together, they must find a way to break this bond before it’s too late. In the meantime, Admiral Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) and Gwyn (Ella Purnell) must find a way to uncover and beat the Vau’Nakat Empire to stop them from destroying the Protostar. But with the future of two worlds in their balance, they’ll have to keep the ship’s two versions of Captain Janeway (both voiced by Kate Mulgrew) from killing each other. Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2: What to Expect After ‘Magical’

 In the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy, Captain Janeway was trapped in a black hole and Captain Kirk was stuck in the future with his Protostar crew. Now that Janeway has returned home, the battle between ships continues with hopes to protect the Galactic Quadrant.

During the fates that brought the Protostar and its crew to the Delta Quadrant in Star Trek: Voyager, Ensign Harry Kim (Evan Evagora) made a few new friends that he can’t wait to see again in Season 2. I don’t know if it will be as much as we saw of Admiral Jellico (guest star Ronny Cox) last season, but… “(Laughs) It could be more.
