‘Scarlet Witch’ is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe. She first appeared in X-Men #4 (1964). A mutant, ‘Scarlet Witch’ is both a powerful sorceress and possesses the ability to alter probability. Scarlet Witch was granted her powers by Chthon, the primordial embodiment of chaos and darkness, who hoped to use Wanda’s powers for his own means. She acquired these abilities at birth as she is the daughter of Magneto and his clone-daughter, Quicksilver.
Who is ‘Scarlet Witch’
‘Scarlet Witch’ started her career as a villain, serving under Magneto along with her brother. The two routinely rescued her father from captivity, and she and Quicksilver teamed up with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants on several occasions. She had also assisted Magneto when he re-formed from his Acolytes, but left him to avoid word leaking out about Magneto’s return.
When Magneto and the Brotherhood were defeated by X-Factor, they fled to Transia where they took over after Wanda was forced to destroy an opposing army. They were opposed by a band of heroes led by the X-Men, who rescued Pietro from captivity. After the battle, both Wanda and Pietro joined the team and turned over a new leaf.
Since then, ‘Scarlet Witch’ has been a member of several superhuman teams such as Force Works and the Avengers proper

‘Scarlet Witch’ in Marvel Cinematic Universe
‘Scarlet Witch’ or Wanda Maximoff was played by Elizabeth Olsen in Marvel Cinematic Universe. His first appearance was Captain America: Winter Soldier and his last appearance was Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Wanda later appeared along with her Brother Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, where she was a member as a villain alongside them. Their team-up was not accepted by many other heroes who found that it was ridiculous that they teamed up on a team of heroes.
In Marvel’s Movies Wanda and Pietro were the only two mutants to survive the harsh battle against the team of Avengers. Later they join the good side.
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie Wanda Maximoff turns into a ‘Scarlet Witch’ and she is the villain of the movie.
