My Hero Academia live action movie

My Hero Academia is a popular manga and anime series known for its superhero theme. It was announced this week that Netflix has purchased the rights to produce an American live-action movie, which will be directed by Bones studio co-founder Kenji Nagasaki and written by Jay Oliva, on whose previous work, we have seen in DC Animated Movies like Justice League Dark and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.

On this week’s episode of “Akiba Talks”, Hideki Akagi, Japan’s Chairman of Funimation, explained why he thinks Netflix is doing a live-action adaptation of this series.

Netflix may be interested in an anime series like this not just because they want to save money by doing it themselves, but because they want to prove a point: ‘Even an anime can be made into a Hollywood movie'”.

“My Hero Academia” possible release date:

It was announced by Funimation that this movie will be released in late 2024 or early 2025 at the earliest. But we believe that there might be a chance that it would drop even later because they might want to ensure a great quality of the movie.

Is there any Teaser of “My Hero Academia”?

There aren’t any trailers for the upcoming movie yet. But we have learned that the new characters will include Deku and All Might. If you have seen the 2017 “My Hero Academia” TV anime series, you will remember All Might (he is the main character’s teacher), so you can still get a feel of what he will look like in live-action form.

“My Hero Academia” Live-action movie cast:

The movie will star U.S. native actor Levi Meaden as Izuku Midoriya and Toby Kebbell as All Might. In the original manga, Izuku is a high school student whose dream is to become a hero and be like his idol, the Symbol of Peace All Might, who saved Japan 25 years ago with his Quirk Hiding Under Oppressiveness (Haki). Izuku’s parents died when he was still young and thus, he lives with his foster sister, Ochako Omura, who is also a Hero worshipper.

“My Hero Academia” Movie Characters:

– Izuku Midoriya: A boy born without powers, but he uses his mind to become a hero anyway.

– All Might: A Pro Hero who saved Japan from an attack by villains with Quirk Manipulation Disorder 25 years ago. [In the original manga, he is just “All Might”.]

– Bakugo Katsuki: An arrogant Quirk user who wears glasses and behaves very negatively because of it.

“My Hero Academia” Studio:

The movie is being made by Legendary Entertainment, but Bones studio has been entrusted with the lead production. So, you can expect good quality.
