Mayfair Witches

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, or simply Mayfair Witches, is an upcoming American supernatural thriller theater television sequel created by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, based on the story trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice. The sequel stars Alexandra Daddario as Dr. Rowan, Harry Hamlin (as Cortland Mayfair), Tongayi Chirisa (as Ciprien Grieve), and Jack Alexander Huston a British actor (as Lasher). It is set to launch on AMC on January 8, 2023, and will be the second TV series in Rice’s Immortal Universe.

If there’s one item that author Anne Rice loved writing about, it was toxic, messy connections. Her novels were soapy, metaphysical southern Gothics that luxuriated in swarthy sensuality. Her numerous famous series of stories was The Vampire Chronicles, which especially followed the vampire Lestat, the Brat Prince of the undead, as he wreaks mayhem on every person he meets vampire, human, or otherwise. Her different major series was Lives of the Mayfair Witches, which observed a family of witches in New Orleans who were permanently entwined with an evil soul named Lasher. Eventually, the two sequels crossed over when the witches emerged in the later Vampire Chronicles novels, setting up a full Anne Rice universe.

Filming

As of May 2022, filming for Mayfair Witches was underway in New north-central France. Showrunner Esta Spalding announced that shooting for the first season had covered at the beginning of September 2022.

Production

Development rights to Anne Rice’s Energies of the Mayfair Witches book sequel were still held by Warner Bros in December 2019, when Rice started shopping for a package combining movie and TV rights to both The Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches. Rice was reportedly requesting around 30 to 40 billion, plus a 2.5 million buyout of Warner Bros.’ righteousness, and the new landlord would hold the privileges in perpetuity, not suitable as an option. In May 2020, it was announced that AMC had obtained the rights to The Vampire Archives and Lives of the Mayfair Witches for producing movie and television projects. Anne and Christopher Rice would act as executive producers on any assignments developed. Rice said It is always been my goal to see the worlds of my two biggest sequels united under a single roof so that filmmakers could examine the expansive and interconnected galaxy of my vampires and witches. That vision is now a reality, and the outcome is one of the most significant and exhilarating deals of my long occupation.

Bringing lost in Rice’s most cd workomplicate

The main draw of Rice’s “Mayfair Witches” books is the sensual family drama that’s one part V.C. Andrews and one part “Days of Our Lives,” all screened through Rice’s gory gothic lens. Dr. Rowan Mayfair (Alexandria Daddario) is an illuminated young neurosurgeon who uncovers that she is the selected one in a line of witches who are secured to the spirit Lasher (Jack Huston). Deidre, her adoptive mother, a Mayfair cousin, dies and Rowan finds herself drawn to New Orleans, departing behind her nifty, tidy world for a phenomenal nightmare. The Mayfairs are a sprawling dynasty with Haitian and Dutch branches, but they are all witches, bound to Lasher’s illusions in some course or another. Deidre was held drugged to discourage her from communicating with Lasher, but she ultimately manages to avoid grabbing her prescription and retrieving the necklace, mustering him back to the Mayfair house earlier. After she fails, it is only an issue of time before Lasher places his sights on Rowan.
