Stranger Things Season 5

Stranger Things is returning to Netflix in 2019 and is set to release in 2024. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos confirmed the confirmation that Season 5 was on the way. This is great news for fans, for there will be no short wait before all their favorite characters are back on screen, with new mysteries and new dangers to unravel.

Sarandos went on to tell Vanity Fair that “the timeline of renewal at Netflix is always up in the air,” but that he thinks it’s safe to say, “that it will not be as long as this.” The next season will also do away with its summer release date; it used to premiere over the summertime and then go into production in late summer so they could finish it by December.

Stranger Things Season 5 Spoilers:

The series takes place in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in 1983 and is set during a mysterious event known as Elevens Return. As a result of this mysterious event, children who have been misbehaving for some time have come down with a strange sickness that prevents them from accessing their full powers.

Eleven, who is played by Millie Bobby Brown, was one of these troubled kids when she disappeared in season 1 and was later revealed to have been abducted by the government before being “tested on”. She returns in season 2 with her mental powers having been enhanced by her time away, which fuels a bigger interest in her from the government. This ultimately leads to a final confrontation between Eleven and Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) which ends with him dying – until he returns to terrorize Eleven (and the rest of Hawkins).
