The Ministry of Home Affairs is a crucial division in the Ministry of the Government of India. The department is responsible for internal security, border management, Center-State relations, administration of Union territories, etc. The Ministry conducts the Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (IB ACIO) examination to source competent candidates for various positions in their department. Stages of IB ACIO Exam

Tier II: Comprehensive Test

This test of the IB ACIO exam is a descriptive type.

  • Type: Descriptive Paper
  • Subjects covered: Security threats, emerging trends, case studies, etc.
  • Total Marks allotted: 50
  • Time frame: 60 minutes
  • Mode: Offline

The Tier II paper consists of 2 questions. 

Essay Writing – 30 marks 

English Comprehension and Précis Writing – 20 Marks

In this interview round, you will have to write an essay on a topic. Practice the format of an essay and work on improving your English writing skills. 

Tier III: Personal Interview

It is the final stage of the IB ACIO exam selection process. After clearing the first two stages of the selection process, candidates are now eligible to appear for the final selection process, which is the personal interview. The personal interview is led by a Panel Board or Senior Management, depending on the job role. 

In this round of interviews, the interviewer will evaluate the candidate’s overall personality skills, preparedness for the role, confidence, communication skill, knowledge, intelligence, problem-solving ability, teamwork, etc. These skills are evaluated to ensure that competent candidates are recruited to fill challenging roles in the department.
