High Fidelity Season 2 Cancelled by Hulu even after the huge success of Season 1?

High Fidelity Season 2

Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime have been on a tear lately. They’re all competing for exclusive content with each other in an attempt to stay at the top of their game. Netflix has had huge successes like Stranger Things, House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black, but they recently cancelled High Fidelity even after its first season was so successful. This makes one wonder if these streaming giants are starting to feel threatened by HBO’s new behemoth: HBO Now?

Season two cancelled by Hulu after the first season was such a success? Is this because of HBO now or fear of being out-competed by Amazon Prime?

A recent article speculated that the cancellation of High Fidelity might have something to do with HBO Now. The new service from Time Warner launched in April and offers unlimited access for $14.99 a month, which is just about what Netflix charges. Could it be that people are feeling like they don’t need both? If so then Amazon Prime could also find themselves in trouble as their streamer only costs $79 per year without a monthly payment option available. People may want an alternative to these higher-priced options if they’re not getting enough content exclusive to each platform alone.

The Plot of High Fidelity Season Two:

High Fidelity season two will follow Frank, Sam and Ed as they try to make sense of the future. How do you reconcile your past with a rapidly changing present? What are you going to leave behind for those who come after us? And how does it feel when there is no more before or tomorrow, only now?

In this new chapter, the lives our three protagonists have led–the loves lost and won; their ambitions realized and unrealized –will provide them with reasons to reflect on where they’ve been and what lies ahead. As always in life’s journey, turning points can be roundabout but also direct – an apparent detour that turns out not to be, but a place we arrive at nonetheless.

Season 3?

The third and final season of High Fidelity will explore these moments in the lives of our three main characters, following them as they try to figure out how their pasts fit with the present –and where they’re headed for an uncertain future.

Frank (series star Anthony LaPaglia) is still struggling to maintain his family’s fishing boat company while juggling growing demands from his wife Barbara (Gwyneth Paltrow), teenage daughter Emmylou (Kaitlyn Dever) and young son Patrick Jr. (Noah Schnapp). Sam Baker has found success as a pediatric surgeon who balances work and plays equally well until he meets April Preston-Jones on vacation – leading him down a road that could change his life forever.

Penny Baker has been living in California for the past few years, but now she’s back to help her grandmother and father with their new restaurant venture while still trying to find a way to make peace with Sam after all these years.

High Fidelity Season Two Premieres September 21 on Hulu!

After High Fidelity ended its first season last year as one of Hulu’s most-watched scripted series ever, it was announced they would be making a second season come 2019; however, Netflix outbid them by 100 million dollars during an auction earlier this week which leaves us wondering if there will even be a third season at all? The show had previously snagged some big-name, big-priced stars for the first season like Kate McKinnon and John Cho (of Star Trek fame), so Hulu will have to find a way to lure them back if it wants more episodes.

It’s been great watching High Fidelity grow from its humble beginnings as a sitcom into something that has garnered an immense fan following with such loyal viewers! It would be devastating if we never got another chance at seeing our favourite characters come back again in this amazing show. Let’s hope Netflix doesn’t change their mind about not picking up Season Three of High Fidelity and instead let Hulu snatch it up before they do!
