Cobra Kai Season 3 Reviews: A Meandering third season sends mixed nostalgic messages!

Cobra Kai Season 3

In the third season of Cobra Kai, we are introduced to the new character, Kenji. He is a great character that has a lot of potential for growth in future seasons. The season meanders with sporadic plot development and no clear direction. However, it still manages to be nostalgic thanks to some nostalgia-inducing flashbacks from earlier seasons!

Cobra Kai Season Finale Review! It’s a huge disappointment that it has to be the final season

I really wanted this show to go on forever, but alas.

The finale didn’t tie everything up in a nice bow so we can watch from the beginning again; instead, they left us with some lingering questions and an ambiguous ending which was quite underwhelming for me as someone who binge-watched all seasons of Cobra Kai.

Season 3:

The third season of Cobra Kai is an interesting one for many reasons. The first and most noticeable reason is that we are introduced to Kenji in this season, who is a fun character with lots of potential for future growth. Another notable event happens midway through the series: all adults disappear from their homes and schools without warning or explanation–most likely due to some supernatural element (or aliens). But other than these two events happening halfway through the series, there isn’t anything else going on plot-wise; because of this lack days characters from North Valley Karate, while also trying to please those who watched Cobra Kai and are looking for a show that features the same level of fighting skills.

Backslashes:

What I did enjoy about the season premiere is that it revisited old characters into new contexts while also introducing what could be a promising new character: Kenji. He’s in my opinion one of the best additions to the cast because he offers fresh perspectives without overdoing it like Jigsaw or too much melodrama like Cobra Kai’s female protagonist Miyoko (played by Masami Nagasawa).

About the show:

As the series progresses, it becomes quickly clear that Cobra Kai is a show of mixed messages. It’s trying to please those who are nostalgic about seeing their favourite characters and places revisited while also creating new content for younger audiences (which might be why there was a lackadaisical feel to this season as opposed to previous seasons). This will likely lead viewers to feel very conflicted with how they should approach watching Cobra Kai Season Three–should one watch in order? Watch out-of-order and then binge later? Or just skip altogether?

More on Cobra Kai Season three: The third season focuses on John Kreese’s son Jason taking over his father’s dojo after he passes away. Danny is on a mission to take down the dojo and destroy it for what they did to his father. It’s up in the air if Cobra Kai Season Three should be considered an origin story, or simply just another adventure of John Kreese (given that he dies at the end).

The cast of Cobra Kai Season 3:

Ralph Macchio

Martin Kove

William Zabka

Rick Yune

Chris Caso

Shelby Karhu, Jr.

Fumiko Orikasa (credited as Fumiko “June” Kyoda) – Cobra Kai Season Three; she kills his father and is the mother of Ray Kreese. In season three she takes over for her son. When he dies then in episode six he’s revealed to be alive. She starts training him again; but this time with a different philosophy from before. Which is that Ray has learned nothing by being imprisoned for ten years; so now will have to learn everything all over again and how it was always meant to be done: through discipline!

Conclusion:

Cobra Kai Season three was not as exciting as previous seasons but still has some great moments. Especially from characters like Kenji and Ray, who have never had much screen time before this season. The show’s writers might want to consider adjusting their approach; going into future episodes. So viewers can enjoy either watching chronologically or out-of-order; without getting too confused by which episode falls where within the series timeline.
