Russian Doll Season 2

Russian Doll Season 2 is coming to Netflix soon and fans can’t wait! Russian Doll season 1 was a hit with critics and viewers alike, so it’s no surprise that we are all eagerly anticipating the release date of Russian Doll season 2. If you’re wondering when Russian Doll season 2 will come out, what cast members are returning for Russian doll season 2, or what spoilers have been released about Russian doll season 2 then this article has everything you need to know.

Release Date:

Russian Doll Season Two has a release date! Russian Doll season two is set to be released on January 18, 2020. In an interview with TVLine co-creator Natasha Lyonne confirmed that they are going into production for the second season soon and she expects it will take about six months.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who’s returning?

The cast of Russian Doll includes Kate McKinnon as Nadia; Max Casella as Alan; Charlie Barnett as Jake; Amy Sedaris as Margaret Ann Charles or “Maggie”; Yul Vazquez as Horacio Rey in the first episode only. It’ll also feature new guest stars such as Chris Geere (You’re the Worst), Greta Lee (Transparent) and JoBeth Williams (Poltergeist).

What happens in Russian Doll season two?

Nadia is still trapped inside her own body, but this time she’s determined to figure out who the murderer is. She realizes that she can flip through different dolls and explore alternative timelines as well as “murderer worlds” by using magic powers from an old doll named Mousey (Kate McKinnon) with help from a new friend Nina (Greta Lee) and Jake. This could be a game-changer for Nadia if it means finding out what happened to Alan after all these years.

How many episodes are there in Russian Doll season two?

There will be six new episodes.

What does “Nadia” mean?

The name Nadia comes from the Arabic word نادية meaning “charming” or “beautiful lady.” The spelling of this name was changed to get rid of a possible Russian association and instead make it sound more Persian. It also sounds similar to Anaïs which is an old French form of Anne. In addition, there’s a female saint named St. Nadezhda who lived during medieval times (13th century) known for being beautiful and kind-hearted.

Nadia means “hope” in Russian. This could be a metaphor for the character who is constantly trying to escape her own death and find hope that she will live.”

What else might happen this season?

We won’t know until we watch it! The trailer gave us just enough information to get excited, but not too much so you can still enjoy the show without knowing everything beforehand.

What happens to Alan after all these years? Was he murdered by Nadia’s mother, or is it something else… maybe Nina knows more about what happened than we’re led to believe…? We’ll have to wait and see how the show plays out!

You’ll need to find those objects in order to get into the Russian Doll world and possibly save Alan.

The final episode of Season One sets up a lot of interesting questions for us as viewers but also leaves some things unanswered (like what happened with Nina’s husband?) That being said, we’re still happy that there will be more seasons coming out soon!

About the show:

Russian Doll is a new show on Netflix that follows the story of Nadia who finds herself stuck in an infinite loop. Every time she dies (in any world) she wakes up at her desk with no memories of what’s happened before. She has to keep dying until she can figure out why this is happening and how to break free from it all.*

Nadia also has a chance of remembering her own death if she can get into one of those murderer worlds – but they won’t come easily. You need three objects from that world to access them. One object could be anything (a phone charger, for example). The other two items must correspond: keys or scissors work well as do a lighter and matches.

Russian Doll Season 2:

Russian Doll Season Two begins with Nadia coming out of her loop, desperate to find answers and stop the cycle from continuing. But this time she’s not alone – other people are in on it too. And they’re after something called “the thing”. *

She has a new partner-in-crime who helps her through some tough times (and more than one death). They might be able to get into murderer worlds without any objects at all!
