The show was created by Joe Penhall and David Fincher who also served as the executive producers alongside Charlize Theron. It’s based loosely on John Douglas’ memoirs of his years in the FBI during which he helped pioneer criminal profiling with Robert Ressler who served as a consultant for this series. They’re not your typical crime dramas!
Here are some pros:
Mindhunter does a great job at showcasing how people can be so easily convinced to commit something that they know is wrong because other people tell them it’s right or what God wants from them; The actors do an excellent job portraying their characters (especially Anna Torv and Holt McCallany); The show is full of suspenseful moments and it has some creepy scenes; Mindhunter does a great job at showing how the FBI was in its infancy, but that they still were doing their best to solve crimes.
Here are some cons:
The music can be somewhat grating because it’s always either too dramatic or too cheery when there might not have been anything really happening on screen; There could’ve been more episodes than just one season (but we’re hoping for a second!)

I have to say that I love how they split up each episode into two parts since it allowed for more depth than what you usually see with TV shows these days; This style also fits perfectly with the way this documentary-style show was filmed–with a lot of interviews and slow moments to really let everything sink in.”
