The show is filmed in Canada at Confederation Heights Junior High School on Vancouver Island with an anticipated release date sometime next year (2020). Little information has been released about what we can expect from Season Four other than that it will consist of The Anne of Green Gables series is one that has had many adaptations over the years; from film to television, animated and live-action. The latest incarnation in Netflix’s Anne with an E features actors R Hutton as Anne Shirley, M Shaw-Menzies as Gilbert Blythe, C Drewek as Diana Barry, and D O’Donoghue as Prissy Andrews. There are a few new faces added for Season Four: Jason Rosso joins the cast playing Noah Westin while Liza Ross steps into the role of Cynthia’s Aunt Amy. In addition to this, there will be two new characters introduced in season four–Nimrod Wright (played by Jonny Harris) and his wife Eliza Wright (played by Claudette Minkler).

One of the things I found most striking about Season Four was how it focused on Anne in a way that felt new to me. Given her undeniable talent, we are often told how clever she is or what an interesting person she is but this season has opened up an opportunity for us not just to hear her thoughts but also see them acted out through words and deeds. With such an important part of life being shaped by our childhood experiences, it is only fitting that as we embark on another chapter in Anne’s story with Season Four, so too will have the chance to reflect upon where these formative years took place–both physically and spiritually.
