barry season 3

What a season it was. The best so far, if I do say so myself. Barry’s hilarious antics, the introduction of new characters like Elle and Lila, all capped off with a riveting showdown between Barry and Dr. Wellick that left us on edge for weeks! It’s time to revisit some of the highlights from Season 3 before we eagerly await Season 4:

“The Greatest” is an action-packed episode where Barry must stop his greatest nemesis yet–Nathan Proctor (played by Tony Todd). Nathan has been poisoning people in Central City with fear toxin, and he wants to use the city as his own personal testing ground for more lethal chemicals.

“The Flash is Born” is a powerhouse episode that sees Barry’s dad finally return. Dr. Wells’ time in the lab has taken its toll on him, and he needs to be put back into cryo-sleep until his brain can heal itself from all of the trauma he experienced while out in space. But when Cisco feels left behind with Wally taking over as Team Flash leader, Barry convinces Joe not to let Wells go by putting himself inside the chamber instead–and they both disappear!

So good right? I’ll expect you guys back for Season four so we can do this thing again!

Barry travels back to his childhood, when he and Iris go on a double date with Eddie at the movies. With Iris’ encouragement, Barry confesses that he has feelings for her right before they all head into their different timelines. It’s not until three years later that they finally get together in “The Once And Future Flash.” The scene is incredibly tender: as things begin to heat up, Wally interrupts them by knocking out the power grid–and then Joe comes home from work early because of the outage and catches them kissing!

Barry and Iris’ relationship gets off to a rocky start in Season Two. He feels like he’s losing her, so he goes back in time and tells his past self not to wait for her. When future Barry sees that the two of them are no longer together, they team up to find out what happened–and it was all because Joe got revenge by revealing Iris is actually The Flash! A while later, when things seemed at their worst between the former couple, they both confess how much they care about each other before finally getting back together again: “Iris West… will you marry me?”

This season, we’re introduced to Nora Allen–Barry’s daughter from the future! When Barry and Iris visit her for the first time in their home timeline – 2049, she tells them that they have a son together named Wally. She also warns them of an upcoming war with The Dominators: “There is no way out.”

Towards the end of Season Three, there are two big cliffhangers left unresolved. First up, Dr. Alchemy turns himself in and reveals his true identity as Julian Albert! He has been working this whole time with Savitar who wants to kill Iris West so he can take over her body.

We don’t know what happens next because Season Four hasn’t begun airing yet.

Next, Barry Allen is captured by Savitar. He ends up at the Speed Force after a battle with him and Wally West gets in front of an attack meant for Iris. We know that he’s been there since Season Two but this time we get to see what it will be like inside… and if anyone can help him escape! In Episode Eleven, “The Once And Future Flash,” we learn that Jay Garrick (the original speedster) has managed to teach himself how to enter the Speed Force so he could save his own daughter from being trapped there. It looks like our hero may have some outside help coming soon!

The season finale is titled “Finish Line.” This also happens to be the title of the Season Two finale, so don’t miss it!

“Nosedive” is one of the most popular episodes from Season 3. It’s about a social media app that predicts what your life will be like based on how you act in certain situations–and it becomes addictive for some people! The episode culminates with Barry being accused of murder and his reputation ruined because he couldn’t keep himself under control while using the highly-addictive Nosedive app. He didn’t kill anyone, but now everyone thinks he did…until Iris finds out who really killed those victims and clears her brother’s name
