Castle Rock is a psychological thriller starring Bill Skarsgård (IT) and André Holland. The show follows the mysterious death of Henry Deaver, who has been missing for over 18 years before being found in Shawshank Prison. In order to resolve this mystery, he must face his old nemesis: the town’s dark underbelly that controls all aspects of life from police to politics, an array of murderous characters with their own agendas, as well as places you could never imagine exist outside your worst nightmare.

Castle Rock is returning for its third season on June 18th (June 17th in UK) 2019. For those following the show closely, it was announced back in February that Bill Skarsgård would not be reprising his role of Shawshank State Penitentiary inmate The Kid due to filming commitments for It Chapter Two, which will be released September 27th 2019. This decision could have been very detrimental for Season three since he had only made two appearances so far this season but luckily there were able to reveal the new actor to play The Kid, Josh McDermitt.
Josh is best known for playing Eugene Porter on AMC’s hit show “The Walking Dead”. He was a fan favourite from season two and his death in Season six left many of us devastated but now he’ll be back as another inmate who has escaped Shawshank State Penitentiary. There are no details about how long his character will stay or what role he will have other than being an escapee so we’re excited to see where they take this storyline!
Castle Rock also announced that Leslie Odom Jr., who plays prison guard Byron Hadley would not return for Season three because of scheduling conflicts with “Ain’t Too Proud” Broadway Musical which opened in March.

Don’t forget to mention that it’s a prison guard and he doesn’t go back to work again or something related like that. It’ll be interesting how they handle this character next season. (Season two) Wasn’t exactly great so hopefully he does better here! I’m really excited about the possibility of seeing him again though – just hope we can find out more soon!

Brandon Routh, who plays ‘The Kid’ in Castle Rock Season three also played the role of Superman. He was cast to play the iconic superhero for a rebooted film entitled “Superman Returns” which is based on Richard Donner’s 1978 movie and stars his Lois Lane Amy Adams”.
I’m really excited about this season! I can’t wait until it premieres so we know what happened with Henry Deaver and The Kid. I wonder if they will be friends or have some sort of conflict. It’ll be interesting how all these characters come together again since there are new ones too like Reverend Jamison – but did he die?
