On Saturday 25 July, John Saxon, an actor with more than 200 TV credits and films in his name, passed away. His wife, Gloria Martell, revealed that she died of pneumonia at her home in Tennessee, home to Murfreesboro. Saxons were 83.
Saxon was born on August 5, 1936, in Carmen Orico in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from New Utrecht High School, he studied with famous actor coach Stella Adler. Early in his career, he did some modelling and saw it on the cover of talent agent Henry Wilson, who brought him to California. He made his television debut on medicine in 1955 and in the same year he made his first important role in wild running, where he played the role of delinquent juveniles. He appeared in a teenage role in several films including Summer Love, The Reluctant Debutant and This Happy Heading. In 1958, he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Newcomer to Newcomers, which strengthened his career. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe for this role.
From 1969 to 1972 he played the great surgeon Theodore Stewart in the TV series The Bold Ones: The New Doctors. His other major television credits include the role of Rashid Ahmed in the family from 1982 to 1984 and Tony Handson on Falcon Crest from 1984 to 1988. However, he was best known for his role as Roper as entering in the Dragon with Brew Lee in 1973, and Nancy’s father, Lieutenant Thompson in 1984 Wes Craven stirred a nightmare movie on Elm Street. His last project was a movie role. Frank in the next science fiction movie after a thunderstorm.
The Saxons were also trained in judo and kept a black belt in karate. He survived Martell, his son Antonio, and his sister Dolores.
