Atypical is an American television series which falls on the genre of coming – of – age and comedy. The series was directed for Netflix by Robia Rashid on the studio of Sony Pictures Television. The series got an IMDb rating of 8.3 on 10, 7.8 out of 10 ratings in Tv.com. Atypical got 87% Rotten Tomatoes and 97% of the Google users liked the TV show.

Release Date:

There are altogether three seasons of Atypical. There has been news of the renewal of season 4. The first season with 8 episodes was released on 11th August 2017. The second season with 10 episodes was released on 7th September 2018. After that, the series was renewed with 10 episodes for 3rd season on 1st November 2019. Finally, the series renewed for the fourth and final season in February 2020 which will be premiered on 2021. Atypical is one of the few series scripted by Netflix original that makes it to season 4.

  • Amy Okuda portrayed as Julia Sasaki playing the role of Sam’s therapist.

Plot:

An 18 years old teen named Sam Gardner who has autism announces that he wants to date girls. He bids for more independence. This decision puts his family in self-discovery. His father has always wanted to connect with Sam and then he was very happy and thrilled when Sam approached him for advice. Sam’s mother seemed to have an affair with a bartender. The series revolves around different issues and problems faced by family and friends. Sam is on his emotional and funny journey of independence and self-discovery that is growing up with the help of his family. In the third season of Atypical, Sam starts his new journey as he enters in the first year of college, he faces many challenges and gets to know what success actually means to him.

Season 4 estimated plot:

The third season of Atypical ended with the re-uniting of Sam’s parents, Elsa and Doug after Elsa had an affair with a bartender as well as Casey who publicly kissed Izzie, her girlfriend. In season 4, we will be seeing the new couples working hard together for growing up the relationship in peace and harmony and Casey who is hoping to go to California for her University studies. Sam and his best friend Zahid has finally thought of living together as roommates. Sam continues to pursue his relationship with Paige and faces the result of failing in ethics class.

There was no release of the trailer of Atypical season 4 but Netflix had recently released a teaser via Twitter.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the fourth and final season of Atypical. More likely we hope to see the 4th season of Atypical released on Netflix till the first two quarters of 2021.
