The first two seasons of Mindhunter show the extraordinary enthusiasm of fans, and fans from all the age brackets applauded the series. The series seems to be going well, but there are some contentions to it, and we will be focussing on those contentions and how they are going to alter the show’s future. The third season is a much-awaited one, and fans are curious to know the details of it.
The bone of contention we have discussed earlier is about the nullification of the contract of the cast. The cast has been relieved of their contracts, so this is something that is going to have serious implications over the future of the series. So there is a lot which is going around and legally speaking, it can change the course of the series. As once the contractual obligations are over, in layman’s term, it relieves the parties from all the obligations which they might be having.
So if we see this from renewal, the chances are way too low, and this can be saddening for those fans who were waiting for the renewal of the series. The reasons haven’t been clearly outlined by the concerned authorities but will be a bit strange to discontinue the series, which has performed well in its last two seasons.
What could be the release date of the third season?
Off late things have changed a lot, and the recent set of events has halted some big-wig projects. This series has been halted due to some technical reasons which we have discussed above, but the main reason was David Fincher’s new project, a Netflix film. So this may turn around things and change the fate for Mindhunter as it may lead to the revival of the series.
But these are mere possibilities, and as long as we don’t get an official word from the producers, nothing can be said for sure.
What could be the cast for the third season?
If the renewal happens at all, the cast can’t be predicted as there are members of the cast who are released from their contracts. A possible storyline can include Special Agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff), Special Agent Gregg Smith (Joe Tuttle), Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), FBI Chief Ted Gunn (Michael Cerveris), Bill’s wife Nancy (Stacey Roca). This is the expected cast, but nothing can be ascertained at this point. Its a wait and watch thing now, if the renewal happens, chances are very likely that we will get more additions in the cast for the third season.
What storyline is expected to be towed in the third season?
As we have clarified earlier, the show’s existence is in doldrums, so any expectations regarding the storyline aren’t worth exploring. The previous seasons have made it clear that the murder mystery, coupled with internal differences among the cast, is going to be at the core of the third season too.
